Weekly Walks with Carol.

– Date: T.B.A. – As our bowling season is now upon us, our regular Tuesday walks will cease for the summer and hopefully return again in October.

Watch this space for news later in the year.

My thanks to all those who have taken part in the walks over the autumn/winter/spring, the number of laps may be decreasing but the company is still the best around and the Café at the Lido continues to make us welcome, even though we re-arrange their furniture.

Our fantastic members certainly came up trumps today coming out in force to prepare the grounds for the coming season.

Opening the grounds is no mean feat as not only do we clean all the patio and furniture, the pathways round the green are scraped to remove the weeds, all the gulleys are swept and the mats cleaned and replaced into the gulleys.

But because we have the most brilliant members this is all done with humour (mostly) and the grounds are now looking wonderful and ready to welcome all our bowlers.

So, on behalf of our committee we thank you all and look forward to seeing you throughout the coming season.

Tidying up the bank.

What a difference a bit of hard work and time can make.

A couple of years ago the bank was a complete mess with only the weeds and thistles growing.

But now with the bushes all growing in strength and constant pruning it looks amazing. Dave, John G and Chris K have also spent a couple of days laying an artificial green over the membrane and the result is terrific.

So, many thanks to them, because this should last for a few years now and is a joy to look at. You can click the photo to see it larger.

2026 Clubhouse Social events:

Craft Morning...

Vanessa and Sue K organised a very successful craft morning on Friday 27 March. 20 members came along to learn new skills with wool, paints and pencils.

There was a lot of concentration, plastic cover-ups and gloves and some beautiful pictures, meanwhile "gonks" were being made in club colours.

Our thanks to Vanessa and Sue and we hope that there will be another creative morning in the future.

INAUGURAL “RS WINNERS MOVE” TOURNAMENT

We had our first “RS Winners Move On” whist tournament against Bessingby on Monday the 16th of February 2026. An enjoyable afternoon was shared by one and all and we hope that more matches can be arranged in the future..

2026	Main Social Events
New Year's Eve Party	. Wednesday 31st December 2025 What a great night ! It is a pity that it is almost impossible to take some photos of the event but it is decorated to look like a disco with special lighting and candles so the pics come out almost black. But we had a ball. Ron and Dave excelled this year with our firework display (we wont mention a tiny mishap but luckily no one was in the line of fire). With John G on DJ duty we had a full dance floor. Massive celebrations at midnight with Sweet Caroline almost taking the roof off. You cannot beat a DP party. Organiser: Janet
